How are you staying active in Western Pennsylvania?


Getting up there in years we sometimes forget how important it is to keep active. Especially with our minds and bodies. Joining a gym and actually going is a great idea. There are programs such as Silver Sneakers to help with that cost. Eating a healthy diet with plenty of antioxidants and removing trans fats are good decisions as well.

To keep you motivated in these pursuits , why not join group at a senior center? You will not only build friendships, but your new friends can keep you on track making healthy choices. Below we have provided links to centers around Western Pennsylvania.


  • Falls are the highest risk factor for seniors, followed by memory concerns, depression/isolation/loneliness

  • Check local senior center for activities

    • Fitness activities, arts and crafts, educational programs, friendly visits → combat loneliness, referrals for services, etc.

  • No excuse!

    • Several transportation options for 65+ (might need authorization from Area Agency on Aging), disabled, low income

  • Visit your local senior community center
